God's Blessing

The Monastery Candle Shop is an apostolate of St Bernard Abbey, a Benedictine monastery situated in North Alabama. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel and share the Christian faith through St. Bernard Prep, The Ave Maria Grotto, Our retreat Center and The Monastery Candle Shop. We produce a wide variety of candles, from palm based candles to paraffin wax. We are always striving to add new products to our line. In this coming year (2008) we plan to move into a bigger building, this will allow us increase our production and add a few more exciting new products like “fragrance from the Bible and Religious History”. We have launched an online prayer chapel where you can light a candle for a loved one or for whatever intention you like.

Short History

Since 1891, the monks of St. Bernard Abbey have been committed to a life of prayer and work. In keeping with the Rule of Saint Benedict, Five times each day the monks gather for community prayer with the rest of the day devoted to works in service to the church, and our other apostolate.
